ETC: Entrepreneurs Training Centre, we train, we mentor, we empower.
Consequent upon the current state of the Nigerian economy bequeathed with recession, increasing rate of inflation, dwindling personal and national income coupled with the alarming rate of graduate and youth unemployment resulting from market failure and the inability of government and private sector to meet the demand of the teaming population of Nigerian job seekers for viable and lucrative job, the government at all levels has resorted to diversifying the economy in order to attain self sufficiency in different facets of the local, state and national economy.
The situation is so bad now that the government is doing everything possible to contract the size of the labour force owing to its inability to cope with huge salaries of public and civil servants not to talk of creating new jobs for its citizens. All over the world, it has been adjudged that the most pragmatic solution to the problem of unemployment is through the encouragement and promotion of entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in the development of nations. The industrially developed nations like the USA, Germany and Japan bear the evidence that the economy is an effect for which entrepreneurship is the cause. Entrepreneurship has now emerged as a profession, that like other professions, it can also be developed and fostered through specific educational and training programs as well, evidenced by behavioral studies and experiments conducted across the regions.
It is based on the above trend of thought that the idea to establish a training institution of international repute that will bridge the gap in providing vocational, technical and professional training to graduates and unemployed Nigerian youths in various areas of human endeavors was birthed.
